Red Rock Speed Limit Celebration
YES! IT IS OFFICIAL! The speed limit along Red Rock Canyon’s National Scenic Byway (Route 159) has been reduced to 50 miles per hour. The celebration and unveiling of the new speed limit took place this morning at the Red Rock Overlook. I regret I was unable to attend due to a previous commitment. I owe a great deal of thanks to Donna Webster, both a BikingLasVegas.com and Las Vegas Valley Bicycle Club Member, who was able to attend the Red Rock Speed Limit Celebration today and for providing us with an official picture of the ‘unveiling’ of the new speed limit sign. Glad to see the reduced speed. This means “sight see-ers” will now be going 60 instead of 70 (as they always go ten over). Every little bit helps.
