LVVBC Poker Run 2010
Friday, March 19th, 2010
WANT TO HAVE FUN BICYCLING THE ‘LAS VEGAS’ WAY? Then join the Las Vegas Valley Bicycle Club and Northwest Career Technical Institute for their Poker Run 2010!
Sign-in begins at 8:30 a.m. The ride begins at 9:00 a.m. after riders draw their first card. Around 11:00 a.m., the Academy will serve an outdoor lunch. You can park your bicycles on racks in the adjacent atrium out of sight from the streets.
The relatively flat, 20-mile Poker Run route through the northwest Las Vegas Valley is suitable for novice riders too. At designated stations along the route, volunteers will record the cards that you draw, on the back of the provided route slips.
We’ll award cash prizes for best hand, 2nd best hand, and low hand. We’ll give away other great prizes too. To qualify for cash prizes, riders must turn in their route slips at the Academy by 11:30 a.m. so organizers can tally the winning hands. If you think you’ll be late getting back on time, volunteers will SAG you back.
The entry fee is $20 for LVVBC members and $25 for others ($9 for all non-riders who just wish to have lunch with us). A portion of the proceeds will go to benefit the Hospitality and Culinary Student groups at the Academy.
In order for organizers to plan for lunch quantities and other services, we must receive your applications and checks in the club’s PO Box by April 15, 2010. Sorry, we won’t take “day-of” registrations.
