Everyone has such great goals. I hope we are all able to accomplish what we set out to do.

1 - Get my legs stronger so I can keep up with those Crit racers
2 - Do several races this year (bike, run, swim, or tri)
a - Do Mt Charleston Hill Climb faster than last year
b - Run LV Marathon faster than last year
3 - Stay consistent with training
4 - Ride with as many people as possible
5 - Be more appreciative of the time I get to have in the saddle

Oh great must be New Years again goals and such, so lets me think about this,
I started a training program and after 10 days so far so good.
1The training program is 650 hours on the bike, and not over do it or under do it unless I freek out or something like that. Got about 20 hours and right on schuedle so far.
2. climb over 500,000 feet and try to get 700,000 if someone goads me into it. (last year was about 320,000')
3. keep increasing speed over my courses here in Nevada and Colorado.
4. Do Ragbria again (if anyone else is doing this we will have ride some there.) on my single speed.
5. Don't really count how many centerys I do, but to do the "Doggy Double" my birthday ride in sub 6 hours again this year.
6. MS 150 (Colorado) for 7th time this time on single speed. I am a ride volunteer and usually get done with the 75 miles in 10 hours so strange ride for me going so slow. But helping people with this ride is something else.
7. Find my KTM and starting riding it again, also more time on my Aprillia road bike.
8. Mt bike sure thing and Moab is on the schuedle for April is sounds like all ready.
9. The Larry 100 again (local friends ride with a kick ass party afterwards) this usually has some new people doing their first century so help them with this.
Oh and see you guys too, nothing like having too many new biking friends
Gee wizz, the more I work out the stronger I get but always there seems to be more head winds, what gives?

pablocruiser wrote:2009 is winding down and it's time to set new goals for 2010. What are everyone's cycling related goals for 2010?

My goals:

1. Riding in a century ride each month (organized or non-organized)
2. Riding in the Tour de Tucson next November at 195 lbs or less (23 lbs to go as of this morning)
3. Trimming 30 minutes off my 2009 time at the Tour de Tucson (6:11 less 0:30 = 5:41 or better)

There.... now that I broadcasted it, I have to lay off the ice cream and sweets!!!

I opened this forum so I thought I'd do an update since we are now in the 2nd quarter of the year.... Goal 1 is on track. Goal 2 is not on track. I haven't grown taller so I need to still drop weight in order to get to my "ideal" weight. I have lots of opportunity for improvement here!!! 217 lbs as of this morning. 22 lbs to go. Goal 3 - time will tell but my last 100+ mile day (in coordination with the BLV Whole Foods Jean ride) was completed in a ride time of 5:57. The TdTucson is a 109 mile race and the time will include resting time / stop lights so I need to be able to hit it harder to make the 5:41 goal.
